• Archive log transfer from Oracle 9i to Oracle 10g

  Hi all, I have a situation where I need to transfer Oracle 9i archive logs to an Oracle 10g database, from where they are to be mined by a log-miner and then used by an Oracle streams capture/apply processes. (Oracle 9 archive logs can be read by the Oracle 10 logminer - I can manually copy the archive logs across, manually register them and have them mined, captured then applied). The difficulty is that the way Oracle does archive log transfer changed quite a bit between 9i and 10g and setting up the 9i database to transfer to the remote machine like so: log_archive_dest_state_2 = enable log_archive_dest_2 = "service=OTHERMACHINE arch optional" no longer works. I get this in the 9i logs: *** 2009-05-22 04:03:44.149 RFS network connection lost at host 'OTHERMACHINE' Error 3113 attaching RFS server to standby instance at host 'OTHERMACHINE' Error 3113 attaching to destination LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_2 standby host 'OTHERMACHINE' Heartbeat failed to connect to standby 'OTHERMACHINE'. Error is 3113. *** 2009-05-22 04:03:44.150 kcrrfail: dest:2 err:3113 force:0 ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel And in the 10g log I get: Fri May 22 04:07:42 2009 WARNING: inbound connection timed out (ORA-3136) My question is: Does anyone know how I could configure my 9i or 10g server such that the 10g server will accept the 9i connection in such a way that I can transfer the 9i archive logs to the 10g server. It would be a bonus if the archive logs would be automatically registered in the 10g server. Note I have not set up a full DataGuard configuration here and the 10g database is not a secondary server. Edit Note that I can log on to the 10g server from the 9i server via sqlplus, so connectivity is not the problem Edit 2 After a large amount of time searching for a solution, I've finally decided that such a mechanism doesn't work, and that a non-Oracle method of transferring archive logs from 9i to 10g will need to be used (e.g. rsync).

• How do i bind an image to a <asp:Image /> tag in Form View

  First i have a getProfileImage.aspx which accepts a CusID and TN as query strings and display n image. So getProfileImage.aspx?CusID=10&TN=Y will show the image fine in the browser :) But... Now i am presented with a Form View and i want to bind the src of the image to get the image from the getProfileImage.aspx page... The following code works fine :) 10 is the customer ID and the image is working fine... <asp:Image ID="Image1" runat="server" Height="151px" ImageUrl='~/getProfileImage.aspx?CusID=10&TN=N' /> But now i want to Bind the CusID value... <asp:Image ID="Image1" runat="server" Height="151px" ImageUrl='~/getProfileImage.aspx?CusID=<%# Bind("CusID") %>&TN=N' /> This simply does not work :( The getProfileImage.aspx is called with CusID=<%... where the way i see it the <%# Bind("CusID") % is not parsed by ASP which would have returned 10... <%# Bind("CusID") %> The above tag alone will work... but inserting it to the middle of the tag seems to break it... • C# - Alternative to System.Time.Timer, to call a function at a specific time.

  Hello everybody. I want to call a specific function on my C# application at a specific time. At first i thought about using a Timer (System.Time.Timer), but that soon became impossible to use. Why? Simple. The Timer Class requires a Interval in milliseconds, but considering that i might want the function to be executed, lets says in a week that would mean: 7 Days = 168 hours; 168 Hours = 10,080 minutes; 10,080 Minutes = 6,048,000 seconds; 6,048,000 Seconds = 6,048,000,000 milliseconds; So the Interval would be 6,048,000,000; Now lets remember that the Interval accepted data type is int, and as we know int range goes from -2,147,483,648 to 2,147,483,647. That makes Timer useless in this case once we cannot set a Interval bigger that 2,147,483,647 milliseconds. So i need a solution where i could specify when the function should be called. Something like this: solution.ExecuteAt = "30-04-2010 15:10:00"; solution.Function = "functionName"; solution.Start(); So when the System Time would reach "30-04-2010 15:10:00" the function would be executed in the application. How can this problem be solved? Thanks just by taking the time to read my question. But if you could provide me with some help i would be most grateful. Additional Info: What these functions will do? Getting climate information and based on that info: Starting / Shutting down other Applications (most of them Console Based); Sending custom Commands to those Console Applications; Power down, Rebooting, Sleep, Hibernate the computer; And if possible schedule the BIOS to Power Up the Computer;

• How to change identifier quote character in SSIS for connection to ODBC DSN

  I'm trying to create an SSIS 2008 Data Source View that reads from an Ingres database via the ODBC driver for Ingres. I've downloaded the Ingres 10 Community Edition to get the ODBC driver, installed it, set up the data access server and a DSN on the server running SSIS. If I connect to the SQL Server 2008 Database Engine on the server running SSIS, I can retrieve data from Ingres over the ODBC DSN by running the following command: SELECT * FROM OPENROWSET( 'MSDASQL' , 'DSN=IngresODBC;UID=testuser;PWD=testpass' , 'SELECT * FROM iitables') So I am quite sure that the ODBC setup is correct. If I try the same query with SQL Server style bracketed identifier quotes, I get an error, as Ingres doesn't support this syntax. SELECT * FROM OPENROWSET( 'MSDASQL' , 'DSN=IngresODBC;UID=testuser;PWD=testpass' , 'SELECT * FROM [iitables]') The error is "[Ingres][Ingres 10.0 ODBC Driver][Ingres 10.0]line 1, Unexpected character '['.". What I am finding is that I get the same error when I try to add tables from Ingres to an SSIS Data Source View. The initial step of selecting the ODBC Provider works fine, and I am shown a list of tables / views to add. I then select any table, and try to add it to the view, and get "ERROR [5000A] [Ingres][Ingres 10.0 ODBC Driver][Ingres 10.0]line 3, Unexpected character '['.". Following Ed Harper's suggestion of creating a named query also seems to be stymied. If I put into my named query the following text: SELECT * FROM "iitables" I still get an error: "ERROR [5000A] [Ingres][Ingres 10.0 ODBC Driver][Ingres 10.0]line 2, Unexpected character '['". According to the error, the query text passed by SSIS to ODBC was: SELECT [iitables].* FROM ( SELECT * FROM "iitables" ) AS [iitables] It seems that SSIS assumes that bracket quote characters are acceptable, when they aren't. How can I persuade it not to use them? Double quotes are acceptable.

  In the inherited class I use the base constructor, but can't use class's members calling this base constructor. In this example I have a PicturedLabel that knows it's own color and has a image. A TypedLabel : PictureLabel knows it's type but uses the base color. • Running Magento for multiple clients - single Installaton vs. multiple installations

  Hi There I am looking to set-up a Magento (Community Edition) installation for multiple clients and have researched the matter for a few days now. I can see that the Enterprise Edition has what I need in it, but surprisingly I am not willing to shell out the $12,000 odd yearly subscription. It seems there are a few options available to be but I am worried about the performance I will get out of the various options. Option 1) Single install using AITOC advanced permissions module So this is really what I am after; one installation so that I can update my core files all at the same time and also manage all my store users from one place. The problems here are that I don't know anything about the reliability of this extra product and that I have to pay a bit extra. I am also worried that if I have 10 stores running off this one installation it might all slow down so much and keel over as I have heard allot about Magento's slowness. Module Link: http://www.aitoc.com/en/magentomods_advanced_permissions.html Option 2) Multiple installations of Magento on one server for each shop So here I have 10 Magento installations on one server all running happily away not using any extra money, but I now have 10 separate stores to update and maintain which could be annoying. Also I haven't been able to find a whole lot of other people using this method and when I have they are usually asking how to stop their servers from dying. So this route seems like it could be even worse on my server as I will have more going on on my server but if my server could take it each Magento installation would be simpler and less likely to slow down due to each one having to run 10 shops on its own? Option 3) Use lots of servers and lots of Magento installations I just so do not want to do this. Option 4) Buy Magento Enterprise I do not have the money to do this. • What Qt container class to use for a sorted list?

  Part of my application involves rendering audio waveforms. The user will be able to zoom in/out of the waveform. Starting at fully zoomed-out, I only want to sample the audio at the necessary internals to draw the waveform at the given resolution. Then, when they zoom in, asynchronously resample the "missing points" and provide a clearer waveform. (Think Google Maps.) I'm not sure the best data structure to use in Qt world. Ideally, I would like to store data samples sorted by time, but with the ability to fill-in points as needed. So, for example, the data points might initially look like: data[0 ms] = 10 data[10 ms] = 32 data[20 ms] = 21 ... But when they zoom in, I would get more points as necessary, perhaps: data[0 ms] = 10 data[2 ms] = 11 data[4 ms] = 18 data[6 ms] = 30 data[10 ms] = 32 data[20 ms] = 21 ... Note that the values in brackets are lookup values (milliseconds), not array indices. In .Net I might have used a SortedList<int, int>. What would be the best class to use in Qt? Or should I use a STL container?

On my windows computer, it returns: string 'German_Germany.1252' (length=19) string 'ISO-8859-1' (length=10) boolean true string 'UTF-8' (length=5) string 'EUC-JP' (length=6) boolean true string 'UTF-8' (length=5) string 'weißbier' (length=9) On the webserver (linux), I get: string(10) "de_DE.utf8" string(10) "ISO-8859-1" bool(true) string(5) "UTF-8" string(10) "ISO-8859-1" bool(true) string(5) "UTF-8" string(9) "weissbier" Thus, the regex works as I expected on windows but not on linux. So the main question is, how should I write my regex to only match at word boundaries? A secondary questions is how I can let windows know that I want to use utf-8 in my php application.

• Can't create an OgreBullet Trimesh

  I'm using Ogre and Bullet for a project and I currently have a first person camera set up with a Capsule Collision Shape. I've created a model of a cave (which will serve as the main part of the level) and imported it into my game. I'm now trying to create an OgreBulletCollisions::TriangleMeshCollisionShape of the cave. The code I've got so far is this but it isn't working. It compiles but the Capsule shape passes straight through the cave shape. Also I have debug outlines on and there are none being drawn around the cave mesh.   I have an view in my App which has a number of buttons based on the number of items returned by the server. So if the server returns say 10 items, there should be 10 buttons and clicking on each button should call a different person.   In -(id)initWithNibName:(NSString *)nibNameOrNil bundle:(NSBundle *)nibBundleOrNil parentController:(GameViewController *)myGameController{ Have a series of transforming labels like so: deg90 = 1.570796326794897; //....transforms background.center = CGPointMake(160,230); background.transform = CGAffineTransformMakeRotation(deg90); BetLabel.text = @"test"; BetLabel.transform = CGAffineTransformMakeRotation(deg90); That last line is crashing me with: 2010-04-13 21:04:47.858 Game[1204:207] * Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSRangeException', reason: '* -[NSCFArray objectAtIndex:]: index (1) beyond bounds (1)' 2010-04-13 21:04:47.893 Game[1204:207] Stack: ( 864992541, 859229716, (lots of numbers) But if I comment it out, I get the text changing fine. Uh oh, just did a test.. turns out the other transforms were on UIImageViews. Apparently rotating a label in this xib is causing the crash. But in another file the transforms are working fine: newprofileentry.transform = CGAffineTransformMakeRotation(1.570796326794897); playerb0.transform = CGAffineTransformMakeRotation(1.570796326794897); playerb1.transform = CGAffineTransformMakeRotation(1.570796326794897); Tried substituting deg90 with the full float value, still the same crash. Tried cleaning cache, restarting IB and Xcode, cleaning all targets. Program has been running fine until I just added these labels.   I am pulling down an email which has english, chinese and japanese in the email. I was using PHP/EZComponents to do this, but a certain japanese char was just not coming through so I am switching to php imap_* funcs to see if they will work. This is what I have below, and the output I am getting. I need to decode this somehow... I know this has been well (read:overly/chaotically) documented all over the web, but I dont have time to earn a PHD in this right now.   Okay, so I'm using perl to read in a file that contains some general configuration data. This data is organized into headers based on what they mean. An example follows: [vars] # This is how we define a variable! $var = 10; $str = "Hello thar!"; # This section contains flags which can be used to modify module behavior # All modules read this file and if they understand any of the flags, use them [flags] Verbose = true; # Notice the errant whitespace! [path] WinPath = default; # Keyword which loads the standard PATH as defined by the operating system. Append with additonal values. LinuxPath = default; Goal: Using the first line as an example "$var = 10;", I'd like to use the split function in perl to create an array that contains the characters "$var" and "10" as elements. Using another line as an example: Verbose = true; # Should become [Verbose, true] aka no whitespace is present This is needed because I will be outputting these values to a new file (which a different piece of C++ code will read) to instantiate dictionary objects. • GMail appearing to ignore Reply-To.

  I'm using a gmail account to send emails from my website. I'm using the same account to pick up emails which are generated by the contact facility on my site. I'm using the Reply-To field to attempt to make it easier to hit reply and easily get back to people. The message comes up with the 'from' address and ignores the 'reply-to' address. • Capture *all* display-characters in JavaScript?

  I was given an unusual request recently that I'm having the most difficult time addressing that involves capturing all display-characters when typed into a text box. The set up is as follows: I have a text box that has a maxlength of 10 characters. When the user attempts to type more than 10 characters, I need to notify the user that they're typing beyond the character count limit. The simplest solution would be to specify a maxlength of 11, test the length on every keyup, and truncate back down to 10 characters but this solution seems a bit kludgy. What I'd prefer to do is capture the character before keyup and, depending on whether or not it is a display-character, present the notification to the user and prevent the default action. A white-list would be challenging since we handle a lot of international data. I've played around with every combination of keydown, keypress, and keyup, reading event.keyCode, event.charCode, and event.which, but I can't find a single combination that works across all browsers. • Issue with getting 2 chars from string using indexer

  I am facing an issue in reading char values. See my program below. I want to evaluate an infix expression. As you can see I want to read '10' , '*', '20' and then use them...but if I use string indexer s[0] will be '1' and not '10' and hence I am not able to get the expected result. • String.Format Phone Numbers with Extension

  I am trying to create a an function that formats US phone numbers -- hopefully without looping through each digit. When 10 digits are passed in all is fine. How ever when more than 10 digits are passed in I want the String.Format method to append the extension digits on the right. • Android Hashtable Serialization

  Hi All, I am having a weird issue with serialization of a Hashtable. I have made a Server, Client app. Where server(PC/MAC) is serializing a Hashtable and sending it to Client(Android) through UDP. The data is sent/read correctly but I get a bunch of these messages below on LogCat. 04-12 11:19:43.059: DEBUG/dalvikvm(407): GetFieldID: unable to find field Ljava/util/Hashtable;.loadFactor:F Occasionally, I would see these 04-12 11:21:19.150: DEBUG/dalvikvm(407): GC freed 10814 objects / 447184 bytes in 97ms The app would run for 2-3 mins and then crash. Interestingly enough I do not see the Loadfactor errors on SDK 1.5. But I do see the GC Free xxxx objects, quiet often. After debugging I have found that the issue is with de-serialization and the error/warning are coming from following code Code: ByteArrayInputStream bis = new ByteArrayInputStream(bytes); ObjectInputStream ois = new ObjectInputStream(bis); object = ois.readObject(); at Code: object = ois.readObject(); on the client. My server is serializing code is the following. Code: ByteArrayOutputStream bos = new ByteArrayOutputStream(); ObjectOutputStream oos = new ObjectOutputStream(bos); oos.writeObject(obj); Any idea what is going on? Thanks for the Help!

While preserving the hourly structure, I would like to know how to extract a particular month/group of months the first day/first week etc of each month all mondays, all tuesdays etc of the year I have tried using "cut" without result and after looking online think that "lubridate" might be able to do so but haven't found suitable examples. I'd greatly appreciate help on this issue.
